Description:
THE INDIA VACCINOLOGY COURSE (IND-VAC 2009)
Vaccines are one of the greatest success stories in public health, and are a critical component of the health security of a nation. With the production and introduction of newer vaccines world-wide, there are aggressive campaigns to introduce these vaccines into India. There is a need to conclusively establish that these vaccines are indeed required in India and that they cover the pathogens(serotypes) that are prevalent locally. The science of Vaccinology therefore emerges, and it is envisaged that there would be training needs for mid to senior level professionals in the health sector.
An advanced course in Vaccinology will be held from September
20 to September 30, 2010, at the Christian Medical College, Vellore.
The course is being organized by:
Christian Medical College, Vellore
with support from
• Department of Biotechnology, India (DBT)
• Norway Research Council
• The Indian Academy of Paediatrics
• Child Health Foundation of South Asia
• Society for Applied Studies (SAS)
